Yogi Adityanath congratulates Pema Khandu on becoming Arunachal Pradesh CM

Lucknow | June 13: Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated newly appointed Arunachal Pradesh’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu for taking oath on Thursday.

Yogi Ji congratulated through the medium of his official X handle and exuded confidence in the exceptional functioning of newly appointed Arunachal Pradesh Government. He stated that Arunachal Pradesh under Pema Khandu’s leadership will set new benchmarks of prosperity, development, governance and will work for the betterment of the public.  

CM Yogi Adityanath wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Congratulations to Shri @PemaKhanduBJP Ji for taking oath as Chief Minister and Shri @ChownaMeinBJP Ji as Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh!

I am confident that under the able guidance of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi Ji and leadership of you both, the state will establish new benchmarks for prosperity, growth, good governance, and public welfare.

Warmest wishes for a fruitful tenure for you both and a prosperous future for Arunachal Pradesh.”

Earlier in the day, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pema Khandu took oath as the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh for the third term consecutive term.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at DK State Convention Centre in Itanagar. The ceremony marked the presence of various veteran leaders and ministers such as Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Khandu became Chief Minister for the first time in 2016.

He was re-elected as leader of the BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday which marked his way to become the Chief Minister for the third straight term.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant General KT Parnaik (retd.) invited Khandu to form the government.

The BJP won 46 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh assembly in the elections held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha election. Also, BJP had won 10 seats unopposed in the state before the elections only.
