Pre-Monsoon Spell: Delhi-NCR to get light to moderate rainfall

New Delhi | June 20: According to the India Meteorological Department, the region of Delhi-NCR is likely to get light to moderate intensity rainfall accompanied by gusty winds on Thursday.

The India Meteorological Department provided the information in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter).

The reported speed of wind is 30-50 kilometres per hour.

The IMD has said that these light to moderate intensity rainfall will occur over and adjoining places such as Delhi and NCR regions including areas such as Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad.

In a social media post on X, the IMD wrote, “Light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 30-50 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi , NCR ( Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad).”

Meanwhile, in another released by IMD itself, Delhi is going to experience the first spell of monsoon rains soon that is from June 30 onwards.

Also, the southwest monsoons have further advanced in various regions including some more parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Northwest Bay of Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar.

In this case, the rains that Delhi and NCR region can witness today, can be regarded as the spell of ‘pre-monsoon’ rains.
