Ranchi | July 4: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Executive President Hemant Soren took oath as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday in Ranchi.
The oath was administered by the Governor of Jharkhand CP Radhakrishnan in the Raj Bhavan.
Hemant Soren was released from jail after five months of arrest. He was released on-bail from jail, on June 28. In his absence, Champai Soren, a JMM leader was bolstering the politics and government of Jharkhand as Chief Minister.
Champai Soren resigned from the post on July 3, 2024, after which the government invited Hemant Soren to form his government in the state.
JMM Executive President Hemant Soren was released from Birsa Munda Jail on Jue 28 after five months of arrest. He received bail from Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case linked to an alleged scam related to lands; was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in January 2024 in the same case.
