Paris | July 28: Manu Bhaker, an Indian woman shooter, on Sunday scripted history by winning a bronze medal in a shooting event at the Olympics 2024 and becomes the first Indian woman to win a medal for India in this event.

With ace Indian shooter Manu Bhaker winning, India also won its first medal in this Olympics event where she scored 221.7 to secure the third position.
She won bronze in the event of “Women’s 10m Air Pistol Shooting”.
Meanwhile, South Korea’s Ye Jin clinched the gold medal with an Olympic record of 243.2 points. Another player from South Korea, Kim Yeji won the silver medal with 241.3 points.
She was the first Indian woman in 20 years to reach a shooting final in an individual event of the Olympics.
On the opening day, Manu Bhaker finished on the third in the qualification round of Women’s 10 Metre Air Pistol to qualify for the final at the ongoing Paris Olympics on Saturday.
