Melodi: PM Modi arrived in Italy for G-7 summit

New Delhi | June 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Apulia and received a roused welcome by Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to the Group of Seven (G7) upon the arrival of the Outreach session countries and international organizations.

PM Modi arrived at Apulia on Thursday’s late night to attend the G-7 summit.

Along with Giorgia Meloni, PM Modi also met French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

He also met Pope Francis alongside the G7 summit and admired his commitments to serve people and make planet a better place.

He wrote on X, “Met Pope Francis on the sidelines of the @G7 Summit. I admire his commitment to serve people and make our planet better. Also invited him to visit India.”

After his meet with Zelenskky, he tweeted on X, “Had a very productive meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. India seeks to further strengthen bilateral relations with Ukraine. In view of the ongoing hostilities, he reiterated that India believes in a people-centric approach and believes that the way to peace lies through dialogue and diplomacy @ZelenskyyUa.”

While departing, PM Modi said that he is glad that his first state visit was Italy for the G7 Summit.

He also recalled his previous visit to Italy and Meloni’s visits to India which has strengthen the bilateral ties between the nations.
