Mahagathbandhan or NDA: Full details of Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024

Ranchi | November 13: Jharkhand, often an overlooked state but yet one of the most important state of the nation, in terms of economy as well as forest resources, cultures, tradition and employment. This unanimously state is going to witness an Assembly Elections 2024, kickstarting from November 13.

Jharkhand Assembly Elections are going to decide fate of the assertive opposition and ruling Mahagathbandhan or INDIA alliance (JMM, Congress, RJD and Left) led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in the state. Congress is eyeing a ‘major win’ for the party after a major defeat in Haryana Assembly Elections.

However, the centre-ruling BJP-led NDA (BJP, LJP, AJSU) is also assertive of their win in the party with its several leaders giving pro-party win statements ahead of the elections.

However, the Election Commission of India has already enforced the Model Code of Conduct in the state as part of the electoral procedure.

The first phase of Jharkhand Elections will decide fate of 683 candidates, contesting elections of 43 assembly constituencies of Jharkhand. Out of the 43 constituencies, 17 seats are general while 20 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes and 6 are reserved for Scheduled Castes.

The 43 seats which will undergo polls on November 13 are:

22. Tamar (ST)

23. Torpa (ST)

24. Khunti (ST)

25. Ranchi

26. Hatia

27. Kanke (SC)

28. Mandar (ST)

29. Sisai (ST)

30. Gumla (ST)

Voting on November 13 will begin at 7 am. The second phase of assembly elections on remaining 38 seats are scheduled for November 20. The results for the elections on 81 assembly constituencies will be declared on November 23.

In the last assembly election of 2019, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, the BJP won 25 and Congress won 16 seats.
