Kuwait Fire Row: At least 45 Indian are tragic dead in Fire Incident

Kuwait | June 13: Almost 45 Indians died and more than 50 others were injured in the tragic fire incident that occurred in a residential building of foreign workers in Mangaf, Kuwait.  

Out of the 45 dead workers, 23 were Keralites while 7 from Tamil Nadu, 3 from Andhra Pradesh, 1 each from Bihar, Odisha, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, and West Bengal.

According to the reports of Indian Ministry of External Affairs authorities, most of the admitted patients are in stable condition now.

Apart from 45 Indian workers three Filipino nationals were also dead.

The Kuwaiti authorities have identified the bodies and are working to investigate the incident.

As per the information, the fire has been reported in a kitchen on a six-storey building and many of the victims were identified as having died due to smoke inhalation during sleep.

 The Kuwaiti government has pledged full support to the affected families and is coordinating with Indian authorities for the repatriation of the mortal remains.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait continues to remain in touch with local authorities to provide relief to those affected by the incident.

On Thursday, the newly appointed Minister of State in MEA, Kirti Vardhan Singh arrived Kuwait to monitor the situation.

Meanwhile, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, on behalf of the Emir of Kuwait assured Union MoS for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh of all necessary assistance and support for the victims of the deadly fire incident that killed over 40 Indians on Wednesday.
