The responsibility of ticket distribution was given to a company and mobile application named “BookMyShow” and when the ticket booking window was opened, the ticket got sold out within just 3 seconds. Now, the situation has aroused a political debate in the matter.
Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey (opposition party leader) has alleged that black marketing of tickets is being done, which nobody can deny. He has demanded investigation over ticket sales of Coldplay’s concert.
In a self-made video, Dubey said that thousands and lakhs of people wants to participate in the Coldplay’s concert but when the youth wanted to buy tickets in lakhs, the website of BookMyShow crashed in 24 seconds and the company said that they had sold all the tickets.
He said that the reality is that there are other websites where tickets are still being sold through black marketing at 5 to 10 times more expensive prices, so we are getting suspicious about whether BookMyShow has done any black marketing or is there something else?
“A very big event of Coldplay band is going to happen in which thousands and lakhs of people want to participate. The youth thought of buying these tickets, the responsibility of selling the tickets, and the responsibility of making arrangements for them is with BookMyShow. When the youth wanted to buy tickets in lakhs, the website of BookMyShow crashed in 24 seconds and the company said that they had sold all the tickets. The reality is that there are other websites where tickets are still being sold through black marketing at 5 to 10 times more expensive prices. So we are getting suspicious about whether BookMyShow has done any black marketing… For this, we have to be careful and vigilant and we will demand that there should be a thorough and intensive investigation of the entire method of selling BookMyShow tickets, the truth should come out, and we should always be careful that no one cheats the enthusiasm and zeal of the youth…” Anand Dubey said.
The Coldplay concert, being one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year, is set to take place from January 19 to 21, 2025, at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
