How has the sanitizer industry boomed in India after the arrival of Covid-19?

Most of the people have become habitual of it post Covid 19, due to the fright of the disease. COVID-19 pandemic has certainly brought major pains in our life which is one of the reasons why we and our loved ones are habitual of sanitizers.

The pandemic heightened awareness about hygiene and the importance of hand sanitization, which has proved effective during the pandemic.

According to a report of one of the renowned media houses, the hand sanitizer market in India in the pre-Covid phase was valued at around INR 8.89 Bn in 2020.

According to their estimation, it is expected to reach INR 17.97 Bn by 2026, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of ~12.94% during the 2021-2026 periods.

The impact of COVID-19 pandemic has changed consumer behaviour and has encouraged people to take precautionary measures on personal cleanliness.

Lockdown, cleanliness advertisements, social media awareness and most importantly the Indian government precipitance of issuing several guidelines had educated people about hand hygiene.

Whereas, the growing awareness regarding hand hygiene has opened doors for sanitizers manufacturing companies in India with lots of opportunities for their profit as well as implement, until and unless they produce in India. 

Nowadays, a hand sanitizer can be spotted in every Indian household. People sought effective ways to protect themselves, leading to a surge in demand for hand sanitizers.

But the boom in the business has brought up various challenges for the companies, despite growth, the market faced challenges due to counterfeit products. Companies had to differentiate their product and had to maintain quality to stay competitive. 

In summary, the sanitizer industry in India witnessed remarkable growth due to increased awareness, demand, and strategic production adjustments during the pandemic.
