New Delhi | September 28: A family of five members dies by suicide in the Vasant Kunj area of the capital city of New Delhi. According to the information, the family of five including a man and his four daughters committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.
The incident took place in the Rangpuri village of Vasant Kunj, located in the South Delhi.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived to the spot on Friday and broke the lock of the flat and took out the bodies. The neighbours gave information to the police, after which they arrived to the spot and carried out the operation on Friday at around 10.18 am.
The police also found the tablets of the sulphaz near the bodies. The door was locked from inside, when the door was broken, the police found 5 bodies. According to the police, in the initial investigation, it seems that the father first fed sulphaz to everyone and later ate it himself.
The police have started investigation in the case. The bodies have been sent to the hospital for the post mortem. The police said that the sequence of the incident will be known after the post-mortem report and investigation.
According to Delhi Police, the father worked as a carpenter and his wife died of cancer a year ago. Out of the four daughters, one daughter was blind. One had difficulty walking.
The investigation is ongoing and further details are awaited.
