Breaking News: 5 AAP Councillors joins BJP ahead of assembly polls

New Delhi | August 25: In a massive disappointment to the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi, several AAP councillors on Sunday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the national capital.
Several AAP Councillors join BJP in the presence of Delhi BJP president Virendraa Sachdeva and BJP leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.


After AAP Councillors joined BJP, BJP president Virendraa Sachdeva said, “The corruption and inability to do any work let them join BJP. AAP’s corruption and their not doing any work, because of these reasons, these 5 people have joined BJP. They all have one intention only, the way PM Modi is giving direction to development and carrying everyone forward, we also want to work in Delhi for our people and we welcome such people”


It is to be noted that elections in Delhi are approaching, as the term of the Delhi government under the leadership of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is going to end on 15 February 2025. Possibly, the elections in all 70 constituencies of Delhi can be held on or before February 2025.


The last Legislative Assembly elections in Delhi were held in February 2020. After the election, the Aam Aadmi Party under the leadership of party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, formed the state government, with him becoming Chief Minister for a third term. The tenure of Delhi Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 15 February 2025.


Now, that the elections will approach, several parties including BJP, Congress and AAP are tightening their preparations. BJP under the leadership of Virendraa Sachdeva while Congress under Devender Yadav and AAP under Arvind Kejriwal is ready to contest the upcoming elections in early 2025.
