Delhi Elections 2025: AAP announces its full list of candidate; Kejriwal to contest from New Delhi, Atishi from Kalkaji
New Delhi | December 15: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government today released its final list of 38 candidates ahead of the Delhi Elections 2025.
Former Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will contest elections from New Delhi assembly seat while current Chief Minister Atishi will go for elections from Kalkaji seat.
According to the released list, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has retained his constituency and will contest elections from Greater Kailash and Minister Gopal Rai from Babarpur.
Party leader Satyendra Kumar Jain will contest from Shakur Basti, Imran Hussain from Ballimaran, Durgesh Pathak from Rajinder Nagar, Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Naga, Raghuvinder Shokeen from Nangloi Jat, Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar and Som Dutt from Sadar Bazar.

To a surprise, the party has given ticket to an arrested MLA Naresh Balyan’s wife Pooja from seat Uttam Nagar, breaking all the conjectures of fielding another candidate from the seat.
The ruling party AAP has fielded Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Nagar. Naresh Balyan’s wife Pooja Naresh Balyan has been fielded from Uttam Nagar.
After getting ticket from Kalkaji, CM Atishi expressed gratitude to the party leadership and Arvind Kejriwal, saying that it is a matter of pride for her and she will fulfill this responsibility with full loyalty and dedication.
In a social post on X (formerly Twitter), CM Atishi wrote, “Thanks to the party leadership and @ArvindKejriwal ji for once again showing faith in me by making me the @AamAadmiParty assembly candidate from Kalkaji. This is a matter of pride for me and I will fulfill this responsibility with full loyalty and dedication.”
With this list, the AAP has announced its full list of candidates for all 70 seats of Delhi Assembly. The names were announced for the Delhi Elections 2025 after the party conducted its PAC (Political Affairs Committee) meeting at residence of party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Earlier, AAP has announced its list of candidates.
To surprise, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will not contest elections from Patparganj seat. Instead of him, famous educator Awadh Ojha will contest elections from this seat to mark his political debut.
Sisodia will now contest elections from the Jangpura seat. Jintender Singh Shunty from Shahdara and Surinder Pal Singh Bittu from Timarpur, who recently quit the BJP to join the AAP.
From AAP, Punardeep Singh Sawhney (Saby) will contest elections from Chandni Chowk, Pravin Kumar from Janakpuri, Surendar Bharadwaj from Bijwasan, Parvesh Ratan from Patel Nagar, Rakhi Bidlan from Madipur, and Joginder Solanki from Palam.
Prem Kumar Chauhan has been announced as candidate from Deoli seat, Vikas Bagga from Krishna Nagar, Anjana Parcha from Trilokpuri, Jitender Singh Shunty from Shahdara, Naveen Choudhary from Gandhi Nagar and Adil Ahmad Khan from Mustafabad.
Earlier, AAP already announced their candidates on 11 seats of Chhatarpur, Kiradi, Vishwas Nagar, Rohtash Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Badarpur, Seelampur, Seemapuri, Ghonda, Karawal Nagar and Matiala seats.
From AAP – Brahm Singh Tanwar from Chhatarpur, Anil Jha from Kiradi, Deepak Singla from Vishwas Nagar, Sarita Singh from Rohtash Nagar, BB Tyagi from Laxmi Nagar, Ram Singh Netaji from Badarpur, Chaudhary Zubair Ahmad from Seelampur, Veer Singh Dhingan from Seemapuri, Gaurav Sharma from Ghonda, Manoj Tyagi from Karawal Nagar and Sumesh Shokeen from Matiala.
Notably, its contender BJP and Congress haven’t announced a single candidate from their party for the upcoming elections in Delhi.
The assembly elections in Delhi are likely to be held in February 2025. However, the Election Commission of India is yet to announce the dates of polls on 70 seats Delhi’s legislative assembly.
