Delhi Elections 2025: AAP release its second list of candidates, Sisodia will not contest from Patparganj

New Delhi | December 9: As Delhi is gearing up for the assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party today released its second list of candidates for 20 constituencies.The names were announced for the Delhi Elections 2025 after the party conducted its PAC (Political Affairs Committee) meeting at residence of party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

To surprise, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will not contest elections from Patparganj seat. Instead of him, famous educator Awadh Ojha will contest elections from this seat to mark his political debut.

Sisodia will now contest elections from the Jangpura seat.

The list also includes the names of Jintender Singh Shunty from Shahdara and Surinder Pal Singh Bittu from Timarpur, who recently quit the BJP to join the AAP.

From AAP, Punardeep Singh Sawhney (Saby) will contest elections from Chandni Chowk, Pravin Kumar from Janakpuri, Surendar Bharadwaj from Bijwasan, Parvesh Ratan from Patel Nagar, Rakhi Bidlan from Madipur, and Joginder Solanki from Palam.

Prem Kumar Chauhan has been announced as candidate from Deoli seat, Vikas Bagga from Krishna Nagar, Anjana Parcha from Trilokpuri, Jitender Singh Shunty from Shahdara, Naveen Choudhary from Gandhi Nagar and Adil Ahmad Khan from Mustafabad.

Notably, the party has dropped 17 sitting MLAs, and replaced them with new faces in its second list which was released today.

Earlier, AAP already announced their candidates on 11 seats of Chhatarpur, Kiradi, Vishwas Nagar, Rohtash Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Badarpur, Seelampur, Seemapuri, Ghonda, Karawal Nagar and Matiala seats.

From AAP – Brahm Singh Tanwar from Chhatarpur, Anil Jha from Kiradi, Deepak Singla from Vishwas Nagar, Sarita Singh from Rohtash Nagar, BB Tyagi from Laxmi Nagar, Ram Singh Netaji from Badarpur, Chaudhary Zubair Ahmad from Seelampur, Veer Singh Dhingan from Seemapuri, Gaurav Sharma from Ghonda, Manoj Tyagi from Karawal Nagar and Sumesh Shokeen from Matiala.

Notably, its contender BJP and Congress haven’t announced a single candidate from their party for the upcoming elections in Delhi.

The assembly elections in Delhi are likely to be held in February 2025. However, the Election Commission of India is yet to announce the dates of polls on 70 seats Delhi’s legislative assembly.
