18th Lok Sabha: 1st session of Lok Sabha concludes; experiences 103 per cent productivity

New Delhi | July 3 : After Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA alliance formed government, the 18th Lok Sabha session which initiated on June 24, is now concluded on July 3, 2024. The 18th Lok Sabha session saw a productivity of around 103 per cent in the Lok Sabha along with a lot of heated debates and controversies engraved in the seven sittings of the house.

In the 18th Lok Sabha session, BJP’s Om Birla was again chosen as the Speaker of the House. According to the Speaker Om Birla, the session lasted for about 30 hours and 40 minutes. Around 539 members took oath as the Member of the Parliament (MP).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was elected as the Leader of the House, and he introduced his Council of Minister to the House on June 26.

Meanwhile, Congress’ Rahul Gandhi was chosen as the Leader of the Opposition (LoP).

The session witnessed a heated debate and arguments between the ruling and opposition alliances on various topics such as NEET, paper leaks, Manipur issue, Agniveer Scheme, unemployment issue and controversies on Hindus and may more.

The LoP Rahul Gandhi in his speech again took the “khata-khat remarks of PM Modi on July 1, after alleging that he receives order from Ambani-Adani while PM Modi called July 1 as “Khata-khat” diwas.
